Call for expression of interest
The Technical University of Liberec hereby expresses interest to host foreign researchers
who wish to apply for Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship within the framework of the new MSCA programme.
If selected, fellows will receive the MSCA Postdoctoral Grant which covers two years’ salary, a mobility allowance, research costs, and overheads for the hosting institution.
The Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovations is a research center of the Technical University of Liberec (TUL) combining more than 60 years of experience in the fields of mechanical engineering and materials engineering. Our goal is the contribution to the development of the region, traditionally oriented towards technical industries. In addition to connecting laboratories of technical disciplines from the TUL, we cooperate with important entities in the application sphere. The department of Applied Biology includes several research branches associating environmental microbiology and the development of (nano)materials for biomedical applications. The postdoc will work in the research group that studies the activity of microorganisms in relation to the safety of deep geological radioactive waste repository. We participate on numerous national (Almara, RadMic, BioBen funded by Technology Agency of Czech Republic) and international projects (currently EURAD WPs ConCorD and MAGIC funded by EU), where we closely collaborate with Czech Radioactive Waste Repository, UJV Rez, CVUT and several European partners. We also took part on Horizon2020/Euratom project MIND (Microbiology in Nuclear Waste Repository, mind15.eu).
Eligibility criteria for prospective candidates:
- Applicants may be of any nationality, but must not have resided in Czechia or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) longer than 12 months in the last 3 year prior to the MSCA-PF call deadline.
- Candidate has to hold a PhD degree.
- Research experience: candidates can have a maximum of 8 years full-time equivalent research experience at the time of call deadline, measured from the date that the researcher was in possession of a doctoral degree and certified by appropriate documents. Career breaks, working outside research, research outside of the EU (for reintegrating researchers) will not be taken into account.
Proposals are being wanted from appropriately qualified researchers with an interest in the following fields: microbiology – biology – molecular biology.
To be considered, please provide a recent CV. Selected candidates will be supported by us to co-develop their proposal.
Deadline for application: 10th September 2021.
