Recognition of foreign education (Nostrification)

If you are an applicant to study at TUL, you may be eligible to apply for Assessment of foreign education. However, you can still apply the Recognition of foreign education (Nostrification).

If you need to have your foreign education recognized for use outside of studies at TUL and other purposes, the Recognition of foreign education (Nostrification) applies to you.

Before an applicant can receive an offer of admission, her/his previous education must be recognized. How this is done depends on the level of education the future student has reached:

  • High school graduates submit application and their high school diploma (or equivalent) to the regional authority (the Liberecký kraj in our case) for recognition.
  • Alumni of university submit their degree diploma and diploma supplement for recognition to the International Office at the Technical University of Liberec. Each applicant can apply for recognition at ONE university only. Any Czech university which finds out that the very same person has already applied at another Czech university will automatically terminate the procedure.

Recognition of Tertiary (University) Education

The authenticity of signatures and stamps on the original (or notarized copies) of documents must be verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the state in which the univesity that issued the document is located, or by the competent foreign authority and the competent embassy of the Czech Republic, unless an international treaty provides otherwise.
