Mobbing

A kind of bullying. Targeted and repeated attacks on a person in the workplace by colleagues, consisting mainly of destructive communication. The aim is to weaken the person in general and exclude him/her from the team.

Examples:

  • Spreading rumours.
  • Systematic disregard for the employee’s opinion.
  • Failure to provide information.
  • Providing incorrect or deliberately incomplete information.
  • Constantly pointing out errors.
  • Failure to provide access to resources needed for work (e.g. sharepoint).
  • Continually questioning competence.
  • Ridicule.
  • Failure to acknowledge merit.
